Asociació Possibilitats was founded in June 2014 in Valencia and became official in December of the same year. Its purpose is the development of people, understood as increasing the possibility of unfolding the full range of their own faculties and potential, so that, through dialogue, collaboration and creativity, processes of social harmony and coexistence can be generated.
Taking this main purpose into account, the association’s statutes identify the following objectives more specifically:
- To improve the range of choices available to a community and its individuals when deciding on their future.
- To promote the creation of a social context that enables the well-being of all its members, regardless of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, economic status, birth or any other condition.
- To foster education in human values and positive attitudes by promoting training and information on the care owed to people, as well as the programming of activities for social awareness, and the design, funding, channelling and implementation of projects aimed at generating benefits for the community.
- To defend the right to freedom of expression within the framework of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- To promote the creation of joint projects between individuals and groups usually engaged in different fields of human knowledge.
- To encourage dialogue and all social relationships of a supportive and collaborative nature, both among people within the same community and between different communities.
- To promote and stimulate general interest in the interdisciplinary knowledge of human culture and to provide the means for its fulfilment.
- To disseminate, through any legitimate means, content related to Culture, Art, Education and the Natural Sciences, with emphasis on issues of social interest, the promotion of human relationships through culture and traditions, intercultural rapprochement between peoples, and historical knowledge of mentality and thought.
- To promote the creation of a global dimension of barrier-free knowledge through the free dissemination of educational materials and content whose rights allow it, in any format or medium, with special attention to those with wide social acceptance and geographical reach, such as the Internet.
- To promote and develop any cultural activity aimed at citizen participation, such as exhibitions, debates, discussions, lectures, concerts and workshops.
